Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, M Good88 link President Kum Dongwha expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegations to visit M Good88 link and discuss the cooperation opportunities in the future. “M Good88 link and VJU share lots of things in common as we both receive the support from agencies abroad. The mission of M Good88 link is to benchmark the KIST model to establish a multi-disciplinary institute in applied research and development of advanced technologies pertaining to industry and sustainable economic advancements. Meanwhile, the mission of VJU is to become a leading prestigious research university in Asia in the fields of advanced and interdisciplinary technology. This meeting opens up an opportunity to develop a good relationship and will be the first step for the cooperation between VJU and M Good88 link” – Said Dr. Kum Dongwha.

At the meeting, Mr. Phuong Thien Thuong - Head of Biotechnology Division presented an overview of M Good88 link. He also shared about M Good88 link's orientation, which mainly focuses on applied research, directly serving the industry. Being a new organization that is currently in the early stage of establishment, M Good88 link really need the support from both the Korean and Vietnamese Governments. Whereby, M Good88 link could be strong enough and catch up with other Institutes, Universities and enterprises. On that basis, M Good88 link would be able to expand the work scale and promote the cooperation with the private sector.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Oanh – Standing Vice Rector of VJU expressed his appreciation to M Good88 link for having the delegations from VJU and JICA. Mr. Oanh shared that VJU was built following a new model. On the way of its establishment, VJU has taken the financial system of M Good88 link as a reference, especially the autonomy in operation and finance. As an organization providing educational service as well as carrying out research activity and knowledge-transferring, VJU could be a potential strategic partner of M Good88 link. There would be lots of cooperation opportunities between two organizations, such as cooperation in undergraduate and postgraduate education, especially in the field of smart agriculture that might be an interest of M Good88 link. Both sides could also cooperate to conduct joint research activities. On that basis, VJU hoped that both parties could have further discussion about the cooperation directions in the future.

At the meeting, the parties discussed issues focusing on application-oriented research as well as exchanging experiences in building laboratories and other infrastructure at the M Good88 link headquarters. VJU also proposed the two sides cooperate in training and research. For example, M Good88 link could offer job opportunities for final year students or fresh graduates or host internship students, doctoral students and research groups from VJU. Hopefully, this will be an opportunity to open a new internship and working environment in the field of scientific research for VJU students.
The meeting has ended successfully. Both sides agreed to continue to discuss in details on a regular basis to strengthen the cooperation relationship with the expectation of leading the development of science and technology in Vietnam in the future.
